Today's Sachi's birthday. With our current circumstances and Austria in lockdown, we can't celebrate it like we normally do with close friends and family. In the midst of chemotherapy, it would have been the most lonely and depressing birthday. However, her/our friends sent her birthday wishes and messages which I made into a video. Sachi watched the surprise video this morning and was full of tears out of gratitude to God and each one of you. We thank you so much for your love and friendship. Enjoy the attached video.

Regarding the video, I want to mention some things.

1. I asked Sachi's close friends, etc whose birthday wishes I was sure would encourage her very much. I really wanted to ask more people but the original video was nearly one hour long, therefore I had to select whom to ask. I also intentionally didn't ask friends who had a lot going on in their lives. I am sorry if you feel offended by not having been asked, I would appreciate your understanding. We truly appreciate your friendship and partnership in the Gospel.

2. For privacy reasons, I left out some people/messages from this video and upload. But Sachi watched all the messages you sent her and was full of gratitude.

3. The background music is "Forevermore" by Jesus Culture Band © Jesus Culture Music, C. Quilala, I. Mclntosh, J. Kunde, J.Riddle.

The song has become very significant to us. As we were beginning the discovery of Sachi's cancer, we got to know and sang this worship song in German at our local church, Rhema Gemeinde. As the lyrics really touched and moved me, I couldn't hold tears falling. I had so much fear but the song helped me to look up to Jesus Christ, His goodness and promises. The diagnosis was unfortunately cancer, but like the lyrics of this song, we have experienced so much of God's faithfulness and goodness so far. We can confidently say that we are alive because Jesus is with us.

We thank each one of you who read our update, pray for us, support us and partner with us in the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ. And today, I especially thank my dear wife and celebrate her birthday. It's so great going on this way together, the way that the Lord has prepared for us and lead us to!

今日はサチの誕生日です。今年は、私たちの現在の状況とオーストリアのロックダウンため、いつものように、親しい友人や家族と誕生日を祝うことはできません。抗がん剤治療の真っ只中で、今までで最も孤独で憂鬱な誕生日になったかもしれません。しかし、サチや私たちの友人や親しい人たちがビデオメッセージを送ってくれたので、編集して一つの動画にしました。サチはそのサプライズ動画に、神さまと皆さん一人一人への感謝の気持ちで涙が止まりませんでした。皆さんの愛と友情に感謝します。添付動画をご覧ください。

動画に関して、いくつかのことをお伝えします。

1.誕生日のメッセージを受け取ったらサチがとても励まされると思った人たちに、メッセージをお願いしました。もっと多くの人にお願いしたかったのですが、もともとの動画は1時間近くにもなり、よって、誰にお願いするか選ばなければなりませんでした。また、いろんなことで忙しい友人たちには意図的に尋ねませんでした。もし、尋ねられなかったということで気分を害される方がいたら、ごめんなさい。ご理解いただけると嬉しいです。皆さんが良くしてくださること、友情、福音宣教におけるパートナーシップに心から感謝します。

2.プライバシー等の理由から、動画では一部の人・メッセージを省略し、アップロードしていません。でもサチは送ってもらったすべてのメッセージを見て、感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

この曲は私たちにとってとても大切な賛美になりました。サチのがんの発見当初、現地レマ教会の礼拝でこの曲を初めて知り、ドイツ語で賛美しました。歌詞に本当に感動し、涙を止められませんでした。恐怖の中にいましたが、この賛美がイエス・キリスト、主の優しさと約束に目を向けるよう助けてくれました。残念ながら診断はがんでしたが、この曲の歌詞のように、私たちはこれまで神さまの忠実さと優しさをたくさん体験してきました。私たちが生きているのは、イエスさまが私たちと共におられるからだと一点の曇りもなく言えます。

私たちのアップデートを読み、お祈りし、サポートし、主イエスさまの宣教において共に仕えてくださる皆さんに感謝します。そして今日、特に愛する妻に感謝し、彼女の誕生日をお祝いします。主が私たち夫婦のために備え、私たちを導いてくださるこの道を共に歩める特権を感謝します！
