First guest from Japan/日本から最初のゲスト

From 7 to 9 June, our family received our first guest from Japan; Pastor Shinya Funakoshi, our newly appointed OM Japan leader.

He had attended an OM international meeting taken place in Cyprus, stopped by in Turkey, visited his brother's family serving in Ukraine as missionary, paid a Japanese missionary/pastor a visit in Romania, and they drove to Austria to meet us.

It was so refreshing and encouraging for us to reunite with Pastor Shinya and Pastor Katsu, the 28 year-long missionary to Romanians. Sachi had been unwell and in bed till last Saturday, but when our first guest from Japan arrived on Tuesday, she was well again.

Franz, our local church member kindly showed us around the Rhema church. Andy, our OM Austria leader took time to explain what OM Austria has been doing. Maria and Elena, the Romanian sisters who had overcome cancers themselves and have been great encouragements to Sachi, also came to welcome the pastors.

Next day, Pastor Katsu took Pastor Shinya and me to the Wednesday evening prayer gathering of the biggest Free Church in Austria (Free Church: protestant church intrinsically separate from government). The biggest Free Church in the capital city of Vienna is Romanian with its members of 2000-3000 people. Around 200-300 people attended the prayer meeting, and Pastor Shinya and I shared about OM and spoke about the mission from the Bible.

After he left Austria, Pastor Shinya wrote us an email:

"・・・I was really happy to be able to spend time together with your family this time. And it was fun! Also, I was able to see various things and learn about your thoughts, blessed experiences and challenges. I just thank the Lord for all of it.・・・"

Lior and Liana really enjoyed the visit from the pastors, Sachi and I laughed a lot, and we were inspired by their love for God and heart for the lost souls. 6月7日から9日まで、私たちの家族は日本から最初のゲストを迎えました。 OM日本の新代表、船越しんや牧師です。

彼はキプロスで開催されたOM国際会議に出席し、トルコに立ち寄り、ウクライナで宣教師として奉仕している実のお兄さん家族を訪問し、ルーマニアで活動されている日本人宣教師/牧師を訪問し、彼と一緒にオーストリアまで足を延ばしてくれました。

しんや牧師とルーマニアで28年の宣教をしている川井先生との再会は、とてもリフレッシュ、励ましの時となりました。サチは先週土曜日まで体調が優れず寝ていましたが、日本からゲストが到着した火曜日には、元気が戻っていました。

地元の教会のフランツさんが、レマ教会を案内してくれ、OMオーストリアの代表、アンディさんがここでのOMの活動を説明してくれました。自身もがんを克服し、日頃からサチの大きな励ましとなっているルーマニア人姉妹、マリアさんとエレナさんも牧師先生たちを歓迎するために来てくれました。

翌日、川井先生が、しんや牧師と僕をオーストリア最大のフリー・チャーチ（政府から本質的に分離されたプロテスタント教会）の水曜日夕方の祈祷会に連れて行ってくださいました。首都ウィーンにあるオーストリア最大の教会は、ルーマニア人教会で、2000人〜3000人のメンバーがいます。祈祷会には約200〜300人が参加し、しんや牧師と僕はOMについて分かち合い、聖書からの宣教について語りました。

オーストリアを離れた後、しんや牧師は私たち家族にメールをくださいました。

「・・・今回、いっしょに過ごせて、本当に嬉しかったです。そして楽しかった！また、いろいろなものを見ることができ、アキくんやさちさんたちの思いや祝福またチャレンジを知ることができて…ただただ主に感謝します。・・・」
